I start most sessions at the Trevi Fountain before eight in the morning, since that is the only time I can show it without a wall of people between the camera and the water. At the Spanish Steps I explain why the staircase was built to link two very different parts of the city rather than just for the view. Via Margutta is where I actually spend my afternoons, since I trained as a painter myself before guiding, and I like pointing out which studios are still working ones rather than only plaques on old doors.
