My family has kept a boat in the old harbour for three generations, so the cobbled peninsula has always meant work to me before it meant history. On camera I walk the lanes between the harbour and the churches, pointing out which houses still belong to fishing families rather than guesthouses. I explain how the peninsula's narrow isthmus has shaped the town's whole layout for centuries. In the evenings I show the harbour terraces filling up, since that is when the old town feels most like itself to me. I run relaxed sessions and answer questions about daily life happily.
