I used to work night shifts in the Cowgate, so I know that part of the city in a light most visitors never see it in. On camera I try to show the contrast between the Old Town by day and the same streets after dark, since it genuinely feels like two different places. I've been guiding for four years and I still get asked more questions about the Scott Monument's story than almost anything else on the Royal Mile. Video sessions suit me well because I can run a late one without asking anyone to actually be out on the street.
