About Eleftheria
My family comes from a village near Arkadi, and the story of the 1866 siege was part of growing up there long before I studied it properly. On video I walk the approach to the fortified monastery, explaining how villagers took shelter inside during the siege and why the building still carries the marks of that history today. The courtyard and the old powder room are both places the camera can reach, and I linger longest there. I keep my voice steady rather than dramatic, since the story does not need any exaggeration from me to land properly.
