I live on Gurko Street itself, in one of the Revival houses that seem to hang over the gorge, so the view I show at the start of a session is simply the one from my own window. On camera I like to point out how these houses were built out over the cliff edge to gain a few extra rooms, a trick that still looks slightly impossible from below. I studied German at university, which brings a steady stream of questions from that direction. I keep sessions warm and unhurried, and I am always glad when someone asks about daily life on the street rather than only the architecture.
