I have lived in Castelletto, the hillside quarter above the port, for most of my life, so the public lift up to its terrace is a part of my daily routine rather than a tourist attraction. On camera I ride it up with viewers, explaining the panorama that opens once we reach the top. After dark, I also cover the caruggi's small bars, which fill the same alleys that feel completely different once the shops close. I keep both sessions honest about which side of Genoa they show, since the terrace and the alleys after dark are quite different experiences. I answer questions about either equally.
