I trained in forestry and spent a season working in the woods above Lausanne, so Sauvabelin is the part of the city I know from more angles than most guides do. On camera I climb the wooden spiral tower slowly, since the structure itself is worth explaining before the view from the top. Down at the small lake, I walk the loop path and point out how the forest changes through the seasons. I keep both sessions calm and unhurried, since the woods reward a slower pace than the lakefront does. I answer questions about the trees as readily as the view.
