I am from Naples but I have lived in Rome for nine years, so Romans still call me the Neapolitan and Neapolitans say I have gone soft. I worked behind the bar at a natural wine place in Pigneto for five years, and before that I spent two years in São Paulo, which is why I speak Portuguese with a Brazilian accent. I started guiding because regulars kept asking me where to go after we closed. My evenings are about the Rome that starts around nine: Pigneto, San Lorenzo, a bit of Trastevere once the day crowds thin out. I do not take groups to clubs and I do not run pub crawls with shots. You will be in bed by midnight if you want to be. I also lead a late walk past the monuments when they are lit and nearly empty.
