Emir Hadžić

I grew up a few streets from the Sebilj Fountain, close enough that I still measure distances in the old town by how far something is from it. On camera I walk Baščaršija itself before moving on some days to Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, the largest in the city, or across to the Latin Bridge where the 1914 assassination took place. Nine years of guiding here has taught me how to hold three very different stories, Ottoman, imperial and modern, in the space of a single afternoon. I keep the pace steady and let questions decide how long we spend at any one stop.
