I cross the Eiserner Steg most days on my way between the old town and Sachsenhausen, so the iron bridge is where a lot of my sessions begin, especially once the padlocks along its railings catch the evening light. From there I usually continue to the Goethe House, explaining how the writer's restored birthplace fits into the wider old town. I keep the pace steady between the two stops, since they sit close enough together to cover properly in one session.
