I have walked up the Cuesta de Gomérez toward the Alhambra more times than I could count, so I know exactly where the red walls first come into full view through the trees. On camera I climb slowly, holding the phone steady so the walls stay level as the path bends. I stay outside the ticketed complex itself and explain the layout from the approach, since the palaces further in need a ticket bought well in advance. I keep my pace unhurried, since the climb itself is part of what makes the first sight of the walls worthwhile.
