I grew up a few minutes from Guincho, watching the Atlantic change colour with the tide long before I ever picked up a board. Cascais taught me to read wind the way other people read a map, from the flags on the dunes to the sand blowing sideways off Cabo Raso. On camera I hold the phone low and steady so you feel the size of the swell rather than just see it, and I talk through what the water is doing as it happens. I have guided here for five years and I still check the forecast most mornings out of habit.
