I sail on the Alster most weekends, so I know exactly which shoreline path gives the clearest reflection of the town hall across the water. On camera I follow the lake's edge past the villas of Harvestehude, explaining how the Inner and Outer Alster are managed as public water rather than left to private docks. I keep my route flexible depending on the wind, since a still morning looks completely different from a breezy afternoon out here. Filming beside open water means the light rarely repeats itself, which is most of why I keep coming back to guide the same stretch.
