I grew up off Eyre Square and studied medieval history at NUI Galway, so the old merchant town beneath the modern shopfronts is what I actually see when I walk these streets. On camera I like resting on carved details at Lynch's Castle that most people photograph without reading, and explaining what the stonework tells you about the family who built it. I have guided on video for six years and I plan each route around a single clear thread rather than trying to cover the whole city at once. I always answer questions properly as they come, since that is usually where the best part of a session happens.
