Hoi! I grew up above a cheese shop in Haarlem, moved to De Pijp at nineteen for a hotel school course and never left. After six years cooking in restaurant kitchens around the Albert Cuyp, including a very long winter doing nothing but stroopwafels at the market, I started taking friends of friends on eating walks, and that turned into this. I know the stall holders by name, and most of them know me as the woman who always asks for the burnt bits. I love Surinamese roti, raw herring with too many onions, and old Gouda that crumbles. I am less keen on the cheese shops with the big yellow wheels in the window, and I will explain why. I speak Dutch, English and French, the last one from a year in Lyon. My walks are loud, there is a lot of eating, and I tell you honestly when something is for tourists. Vegetarians are very welcome, just tell me when you book.
