Frauke Bahlmann

I grew up in Lübeck's old town, close enough to the Holstentor that I walked past it most days without thinking much about it until I trained as a guide. On camera I stand on the bridge facing the gate first, explaining how its two round towers already lean slightly, a flaw in the original foundations rather than later damage. I then move to the Cathedral and along the Trave to the gabled salt warehouses beside it. I try to let each building's age speak for itself rather than filling every silence with commentary. Filming a city this old means slowing down enough for the brick to matter.
