I have guided around Gamla Stan longer than almost anyone else on this platform, starting years before video calls were ever part of the job. On camera I focus on Stortorget, the old town's main square, explaining the building facades around it and the darker history of a massacre carried out there in 1520 that most visitors never hear about. I studied history formally and still read new research on the period most winters. I keep the tone measured when the history turns serious, and lighter when it does not.
