George Farrugia

I grew up near the fort and used to watch the historical re-enactments there as a child before I ever thought about guiding. On camera I walk the star-shaped fortress from outside, explaining how its design was meant to defend the harbour entrance during the Great Siege of 1565. I also talk through some of its later history as a military base into the twentieth century, since the fort's story does not stop with the Knights. I have guided in Valletta for five years and still find the shape of the fortifications genuinely impressive.
