I grew up a few streets from the Two Towers, so I still notice how the Garisenda leans a little further out of true every time I film beneath it. My sessions usually start there, then move under the porticoes, since sixty kilometres of covered walkway is easier to grasp once you are actually watching it in one long take. I like showing how the arches change height and material street by street, brick giving way to stone the closer you get to Piazza Maggiore. On camera I keep the frame low so the vaulting reads properly, and I slow down at junctions so viewers can ask questions.
