Goncalo Teixeira

I trained as a forester before I started guiding, so Monsanto's forest park is the one part of Lisbon where I talk about trees more than buildings. On camera I walk the park's trails explaining how this green space was planted deliberately in the 1930s rather than being an original forest, and separately I take calls for people planning their own morning here who want route advice first. I keep the walking sessions at an easy pace, since Monsanto's paths are steeper than they look on a map. Seven years of guiding later, I still find new corners of that park most seasons.
