I have lived two streets from the Schnoor for most of my life, so I know which of its lanes still hold the pattern of Bremen's medieval fishermen's quarter. On camera I walk the narrowest alleys first, explaining how the district survived wartime bombing largely intact while much of the old town around it did not. I point out a few small workshops that have operated from the same tiny buildings for generations. I try to move slowly here, since half the point of the Schnoor is noticing details rather than covering distance. Filming these lanes works best without rushing between them.
