I grew up near Brick Lane in a Somali family, and Shoreditch's street art became something I actually paid attention to once I started photographing it for myself years ago. My sessions run along the side streets rather than the main road, since that is where the largest and most interesting murals tend to be, changing every few months as older pieces get painted over. I explain who some of the more established artists are and how the council's attitude to the murals has shifted over time. I keep sessions casual and let questions steer where we go next.
