I run a small shop near the National Palace, so the town centre is where I spend my days, not just where I guide. On camera I follow the streets around the palace's two conical chimneys, pointing out the shops and cafés giving the town its everyday rhythm. I keep the phone at a walking height rather than filming from a fixed spot, since the centre is small enough to cover properly on foot. I am upfront when a street is quieter than expected or busier than usual, rather than describing a fixed version of the town. I answer questions about daily life in Sintra as readily as the palace.
