I grew up on a houseboat moored along the Cam and I still live on the river, so the Backs are effectively my back garden. My sessions usually follow the water from Silver Street up past the colleges, and I hold the phone low over the punts so you get roughly the view a passenger would have, without the wobble. I finish most walks at the Anchor's beer garden if the light is good, because the river reads differently from that side in the evening. Ten summers of watching visitors try to punt has taught me more about this stretch of water than any guidebook could.
