About Julia

I studied medieval history before I started guiding, so Römerberg is where I still spend most of my sessions, explaining how the step-gabled city hall and the square around it were reconstructed after wartime destruction using historical drawings. I hold the camera on individual facades long enough to point out which details are original and which were rebuilt from scratch. I usually finish at the Kaiserdom nearby, since the story of imperial coronations there connects naturally to the square's own political history.
