Julien Mercier

I have spent most of my life within sight of the Garonne, first as a canal engineer and now as a guide, which probably explains why half of what I show people is water. On camera I like the Canal du Midi best, since the plane trees and the locks photograph well and the history behind them rewards a slower pace than a normal city walk. I speak Spanish as well as French and English, and I try to match my pace to how much detail someone actually wants rather than delivering the same script to everyone. A good call is one where questions run past what I had planned.
