I grew up just off the market square in Lublin's old town, and I still notice new detail in the townhouse facades, a coat of arms above a doorway or a repainted merchant's sign. On camera I like to slow down at the Krakow Gate especially, since most people photograph it quickly and move on without hearing how old the structure actually is. I also cover the Crown Tribunal on the square, once the highest court for the whole Polish nobility, and I try to make that history feel concrete. Video works well here because the old town is small enough to cover properly in one session.
