I trained as a church historian and have guided Aarhus Cathedral for years, drawn mostly to its claim as Denmark's longest and tallest parish church. On camera I walk the nave first, pointing out the scale of the building compared with smaller churches elsewhere in the region, before showing a section of medieval frescoes uncovered during a past restoration. I explain how the building has been extended and altered across several centuries. I keep my tone measured inside, since the acoustics carry a raised voice further than intended. Filming a church this size means giving the camera room to show its actual scale.
