I trained as an archivist before guiding, so Roskilde Cathedral's role as a royal burial site interests me more than most buildings I could show. On camera I walk the cathedral's exterior first, pointing out the twin spires marking this skyline for centuries, before moving to the harbour for the Viking Ship Museum's reconstructed vessels raised from the fjord. I explain how the ships were deliberately sunk centuries ago to block the fjord's channel against attack. I keep sessions grounded in what is actually visible rather than reconstructions I cannot show. Filming this town means moving between two very different kinds of history in one short walk.
