Liisa Nieminen

I spent three summers restoring one of the wooden houses at Luostarinmäki, so I can point out exactly which joints are original and which were rebuilt from photographs after the fact. On camera I move workshop to workshop through the old handicrafts quarter, the only part of Turku the 1827 fire never reached. I trained in traditional carpentry and still volunteer with the museum on weekends. I speak carefully about materials and craft, since that is the part most people never get explained properly.
