I spend more evenings than I can count at Kolovare beach, close enough to the old town to reach on foot but quiet enough to actually feel like the coast. On camera I try to catch the light there right as it turns gold, then sometimes carry on to the harbour for a ferry crossing to Ugljan, one of the closer islands from Zadar. Eight years of guiding here have taught me exactly when the crossings run and which side of the boat gets the better view. I keep sessions unhurried and let the water do most of the talking once we are moving.
