I like showing the parts of Marseille that sit just outside the obvious centre, whether that is the island fortress seen from the harbour or the beach and gardens south of the Old Port. On camera I try to explain how a place was built or engineered rather than only naming it, since a beach made from old metro spoil or a prison island both have better stories once you know how they came to be there. I trained originally as a landscape guide, which shows in how much attention I give to how a place is shaped. I like a calm pace and plenty of pauses.
