Marco Damonte

I trained as a sculptor and spent years studying the monuments at Staglieno cemetery, so its elaborate 19th and 20th-century sculpture is what I know best on camera. I walk between a few of the most striking monuments, explaining the symbolism carved into each one. At Palazzo Ducale, the former seat of the Doges, I also cover whatever exhibition is currently running, treating the building's own history as part of the visit. I keep both sessions slow and specific, since both subjects reward close looking rather than a quick pass. I answer questions about the sculpture's technique throughout.
