I grew up helping out at my family's grotto, one of the traditional taverns tucked under chestnut trees outside the city, so Ticino food is what I know best on camera. I walk between a few of these taverns, explaining what makes grotto cooking different from a normal restaurant. After dark, I also cover the Lungolago, the lakefront promenade that fills with bars once the sun goes down. I keep both sessions honest about which is calmer and which is livelier, since they show quite different sides of Lugano. I answer questions about the food as readily as the nightlife.
