I have walked Bergamo's Venetian walls at every hour of the day, and I still think the view from certain stretches, looking down over the plain, is one of the best free views in Lombardy. My other session covers the Rocca, the fortress above Città Alta now surrounded by a public park, where I explain how a defensive site became a place locals actually relax in. I keep both sessions fairly brisk, and I like pointing out how the walls' military design still shapes how the upper town is laid out today.
