Maria Kyprianou

I grew up in one of the restored houses in Laiki Geitonia, so I remember the quarter before its careful restoration into the state you see today. On camera I walk its courtyards and lanes first, explaining how the whole area was rebuilt from near ruin using traditional methods, then continue to Faneromeni Church nearby, built on the site of a former convent. I point out architectural details in both stops that most visitors walk past without noticing. I keep an easy pace throughout, since both stops reward a slower, more careful look.
