My family has kept a stall at the Mercado da Vila for three generations, so the market is where I learned Cascais before I learned much else about it. On a video session I go early, while the fish is still being unloaded and the flower sellers are setting up, because that hour says more about the town than the beach ever will. I talk to the stallholders on camera and let their answers carry the session rather than my own script. Guiding here since I was in my twenties, I still find something new most weeks.
