I grew up along the canal and I time my sessions around the tide, since the water looks completely different depending on the hour. On camera I follow the main canal past the painted boats moored along it, and I explain how those boats once carried seaweed rather than tourists. Aveiro gets called the Venice of Portugal, though the lagoon behind the city is its own thing entirely. I keep the phone at the water's edge rather than from a bridge, so you see the canal the way someone standing beside it does. I answer questions about the lagoon and its tides, since most people never think to ask.
