Martina Pardi

I studied botany, so the Orto Botanico di Pisa is the session I care about most, and I explain how it became one of the oldest university gardens in Europe not long after the university itself was founded. I hold the camera on specific plantings rather than walking the whole garden at speed, since a botanical garden rewards slowing down more than most sights do. I try to connect what is growing to the wider city outside the walls when I can. My sessions run calmer than most of my colleagues', which suits the setting.
