I studied German literature before training as a guide, so Lübeck's connection to the Mann family still shapes most of what I choose to show. On camera I start at St Marien, pointing out how its twin brick towers set the record for the tallest Gothic brick church anywhere, before walking to the Buddenbrookhaus where Thomas Mann's family once lived. I explain how much of his best known novel drew directly on this street and this house. I keep my sessions unhurried, since literary history rewards a slower pace than a landmark tour usually gets. Video guiding lets me linger on a single doorway rather than rush past it.
