Melina Grasso

I studied music at the conservatory attached to the old Benedictine monastery, so both of my favourite buildings in Catania are connected through my own history with them. On camera I show the monastery's courtyards, among the largest of their kind in Europe, then usually move to the opera house named for Catania's own composer, Bellini. I like pointing out details that hint at how enormous the monastery's rebuilding project was after the earthquake, since the scale is easy to underestimate from outside. I have guided here for about four years.
