Michał Sadowski

I am a Warsaw guide and a historian by training, with a doctorate on the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 that I finished in 2014 and that nobody except my mother has read cover to cover. Both my grandparents fought in the Uprising, my grandfather in the Old Town and my grandmother as a courier in the sewers, and I grew up with their stories. After university I worked at the Warsaw Rising Museum for five years. Warsaw is a city that was almost completely destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt, and I think it is the most interesting city in Poland because of that. I also live in Praga, on the east bank, one of the few districts that survived, and I love its bars and backyard shrines. I am serious about history and relaxed about everything else. I speak slowly and clearly, and I am happy to answer questions after the tour by message. Now I show Warsaw live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
