I trained as a potter in one of the workshops on Samovodska Charshia before I ever thought about guiding, so I know most of the families still working there by name. On camera I try to keep the wheel spinning in the background rather than cutting away from it, since watching someone throw a pot says more than I could explain in words. I answer questions about the crafts in as much detail as anyone wants, having spent years elbow deep in clay myself. Sessions with me run a little slower than most, since I like to let a good shot breathe before moving on.
