I trained as a city guide specialising in Transylvanian Saxon architecture, and Piața Mare is still the square I return to most, since the Renaissance and Baroque townhouses ringing it once hosted markets and, in an older century, public executions. On camera I climb the Council Tower connecting the two main squares, since the view from the top explains Sibiu's layout better than any map. I keep a formal, fairly detailed pace and welcome specific questions about the buildings' different centuries. Video suits a tower view particularly well, since the camera can hold on the rooftops far longer than a quick photograph usually allows.
