I take the funicular up Artxanda most weeks just for the view, and it is still my favourite way to show someone the whole shape of Bilbao at once, the river bending through the middle of it. On camera I explain how the funicular has climbed this hill since the early twentieth century and point out the landmarks visible from the summit, the Guggenheim's roof catching the light among them. I keep my sessions short and let the view carry most of the time rather than filling it with detail. Guiding by video from up here means nobody has to wait for the next car.
