I trained as a landscape architect and specialise in nineteenth-century parks, so the Planty, the green ring that replaced Krakow's old city walls, is where my sessions usually take place. I explain how the walls were dismantled and replaced with parkland in the eighteen hundreds, a decision that shaped how the whole old town is experienced today. I like a steady pace on camera so you can see the planting and the old wall fragments still visible in places. Video suits the Planty well, since the ring rewards a proper walk rather than a single photograph.
