I worked for years as a researcher in the Cork city archives before moving into guiding, and calls suit that background well since I can pull up records and maps as we talk. I focus on the city's rebel history and its old markets and merchants, sharing documents and photographs on screen rather than walking a route. Five years of doing this has taught me to let a conversation lead rather than a fixed script, and I always follow a call with a short list of sources for anyone who wants to read further on their own.
