Oscar Åkesson

I live on Djurgården itself, in one of the older caretaker's cottages still standing among the museums, so the island's paths are essentially my daily walk to the shop. On camera I follow the tree-lined avenues between the museum buildings, explaining how the whole island was kept as royal parkland long before any of the current buildings existed. I trained as a landscape gardener and still volunteer maintaining some of the older plantings. I keep sessions unhurried, since the island rewards a slow walk more than a checklist of buildings.
