The Arab baths under the Alcázar are my usual starting point, because the star-shaped skylights make a pattern on the floor a phone camera captures better than the eye does at midday. I used to plan trips further out to Medina Azahara, so I still keep detailed notes on the ruins even on days I am not heading there myself.
