Paolo Brambilla

I am from Bergamo, which the Milanese consider the countryside, and I have lived by the Naviglio Grande for eleven years. I spent most of my twenties working in bars in Milan and Barcelona, where I learned Spanish and how to make a Negroni without measuring. The Negroni sbagliato was invented in Milan, at Bar Basso, and yes, we go there. My evenings follow the Milanese aperitivo: a Campari in the Galleria at the bar that has poured it since 1915, then the Navigli, where the canals are now lined with wine bars. I like groups that talk to each other. By the second stop, you usually do. Now I show Milan live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
